The St. Lawrence County Surrogate's Court requires mandatory e-filing for most documents. The surrogate can be reached at (315) 379-2217. Estate and probate cases go through the Surrogate's Court, not the County Clerk's Office. However, the clerk's office handles all other court docket records for Supreme and County Court cases.

Credit card payments are accepted at the office, but there is a surcharge of 2.65% on all credit card transactions. If you want to avoid that fee, pay with cash, check, or money order instead.

St. Lawrence County Court Docket Fees

St. Lawrence County follows the state fee schedule for court docket copies. Uncertified copies cost $0.65 per page. Certified copies are $5.00 per page. These fees cover docket sheets, judgments, case filings, and other court documents.

Filing a new Supreme Court case needs an index number at $210. A statewide Criminal History Record Search through the Office of Court Administration costs $95.00 per name and covers all 62 counties. Results come by email the next business day.

Keep in mind the 2.65% surcharge on credit card payments. This applies to all transactions at the clerk's office, including court docket copy fees, filing fees, and recording charges. Pay with cash or check to avoid the extra cost.

Note: Town and Village Court fees in St. Lawrence County may differ from these amounts, as CPLR § 8019 sets separate standards for courts other than Supreme and County Courts.
